Pilot stage
Sourcing and API partners
Kipala is building a niche product-discovery and sourcing research surface for professional buyers in Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia, Uganda, and Tanzania. We are starting with products where buyers need specifications, documentation, stock confidence, and a credible path from source-market price to all-in landed cost.
Initial markets
Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Initial categories
Workshop/MRO and professional tools; non-regulated clinic/lab equipment and consumables; agri-processing and farm equipment/parts.
Fast-follow categories
Solar and electrical test equipment; commercial kitchen, printing, and packaging equipment.

What partner integration should provide
Kipala prioritises official APIs, partner feeds, and documented commercial relationships. Depending on the source, useful data includes:
- Product title, source URL, category, and unique item identifier
- Source-market price, currency, and quantity price breaks
- Stock or availability state with a timestamp
- Minimum order quantity, variants, specifications, and attributes
- Weight, dimensions, images, manuals, datasheets, and certification references
- Supplier identity and verification signals where available
- Freight or shipping estimates, with supported destination countries
- Update signals, rate limits, terms of use, and image/display rights
Honesty requirements
Kipala’s research surfaces are intended to show provenance and uncertainty. A price observed at a source market is not presented as a delivered price. Freight, duty, tax, customs clearance, insurance, and last-mile delivery are excluded unless a specific verified quote states otherwise.
Kipala does not bypass access controls, CAPTCHAs, or platform restrictions, and does not republish partner-only catalogs without permission.
What Kipala is not doing yet
- Operating a public marketplace
- Processing consumer payments or escrow
- Providing customs, legal, medical, or procurement advice
- Promising delivery, duties, taxes, or all-in prices
- Representing unauthorized products as certified or approved
Professional buyer enquiries
If your clinic, laboratory, farm, workshop, factory, school, or procurement team cannot find a specialist product locally, tell us the product, specification, quantity, target market, and deadline. We may use the enquiry to prioritise partner and category research.
